Rating: ★☆☆☆☆ (Not even a 1-star) I recently had the misfortune of staying at Rocca di Vadaro Resort, and I feel compelled to share my nightmarish experience to spare others from this ordeal. To put it simply, this place is a complete disaster, and I wouldn't even give it one star. Here are the reasons why you should steer clear of this establishment: 1. Non-Existent Air Conditioning: The rooms lack any form of air conditioning. There is only one unit in the main area that blows lukewarm air, which conveniently switches off every time a door opens. Sleeping here during hot weather is unbearable. The windows also lack netting so forget opening them at night. 2. Inadequate Kitchen Facilities: The kitchen facilities are a joke. There's no provision for making tea or coffee, not even a grain of sugar. The setup is barebones, and you're better off dining elsewhere or at a neighboring establishment. 3. Electrical Hazards: Exposed cables and bare plugs jutting out from the walls are everywhere. It's a safety hazard waiting to happen, highlighting a complete lack of attention to detail. 4. Outdated Bathrooms: The shower appears untouched since the 1970s. It's a relic from the past, showing extensive wear and tear. Prepare for an unpleasant experience when using it. 5. Uncomfortable Beds and Bedding: The beds are rigid and seem ancient. The bedding is scratchy and worn, making it impossible to get a good night's sleep. You'd be more comfortable sleeping on the floor. 6. Harsh Lighting and Noisy Atmosphere: The lighting in the rooms is excessively bright and harsh, making it feel like you're under interrogation. The place is noisy, and there's no chance of enjoying a peaceful stay. 7. Permeating Moldy Smells: The place reeks of mold, which is not only unpleasant but also a serious health concern. The smell lingers and never seems to dissipate. 8. Overpriced Beach Access: If you want to access the beach, be prepared to pay a whopping 15 euros per day for a minuscule 1-meter space in front of what can only be described as a puddle of a beach. It's a blatant rip-off. 9. Abysmal Wi-Fi Service: To add insult to injury, the Wi-Fi service is a complete joke. You're given access for a mere 15 hours, after which you must obtain a new code. This is not only inconvenient but also frustrating for guests who expect a basic amenity to be readily available. The only saving grace in this dreadful experience was the staff's friendliness. They do their best to mask the horrendous conditions with their smiles, but it's evident that they're fighting an uphill battle. In conclusion, avoid Rocca di Vadaro Resort at all costs. Spare yourself the misery and choose neighboring accommodations instead. It's inconceivable that any place could be worse than this appalling excuse for a hotel.

The staff are accommodating for families with young children and the resort is designed to maximize the use all spaces. The rooms and balconies are also private and clean and the AC works great.

Cute gem close by to all main places to see in Tropea and Capo di Vaticano. Very nice beach, nice pool area, very kid friendly with plenty of activities. Great service and staff. Great service by Stefano during our breakfast and dining at onsite restaurant. Would come back again!

This hotel does not even deserve a one star review. It’s definitely overpriced for what it is.The room is outdated; the shower is gross(bring a pair of flip flops to shower in), the towels are ripped and you don’t even get clean towels unless you ask for them. The bedsheets are grey and not white anymore. They change bed sheet once a week also. The pictures of the resort are from years ago. The beach is tiny and does not look like that in reality. On the beach the seating is so small that you will be shoulder to should with your neighbour. We paid extra fee for the front row as we are travelling with a baby but it’s definitely not worth 15 € a day. The water is dirty as the beach is now closed by the rocks, and it’s half of the size of what it use to be.The hotel is dog friendly so you will find people with their dogs on the beach when it clearly states on their website that they are allowed during restricted hours. But the dogs will be there at all the hours. You will also find them at the resultant. I personally love pets but I think there should be rules for where animals should and shouldn’t be allowed especially when it’s to do with food. Also there is no lifeguard they make it look like there is one but we have yet to see him. Even if there was one I don’t know how he is planning to save you.(See the pictures). The food is disgusting, and I am not exaggerating. The breakfast had no variety only few cakes , croissants.(the only okay thing to eat).Yogurt in a huge bowl (not hygienic )stale cereal and bread, the eggs and bacon small quantity if there is any left they would re use it for the next day. You are asked to choose your meals ahead of time. Let’s say you choose chicken you will get just a chicken leg with no vegetables or anything else. The have so called buffet that consists of the same things everyday a salad and some at the greens that are used over and over again, and if your lucky sometimes potatoes. We paid for the food but have been eating out every night. After making a complaint about the food and the beach to their director and the manager, they argued with me and came up with excuses. Few hours later they brought us a bottle of Prosecco that costs 2€ a small container of watermelon and two keychain from their hotel, with a letter of apology! Instead of perhaps making some arrangements for the inconvenience. Unfortunately they don’t seem to have experience in hotel management or customer services as they weren’t even able to slightly try and make things better. We left disgusted and disappointed. Save your money and go elsewhere!

Everything was as hoped: clean, well maintained, fun animation, beautiful beach and pool, a bar and a restaurant, functional living spaces. Wifi is OK for most things although I recommend owners get a fiber upgrade soon to enable seamless remote work.

This is a place for family and kids! The hotel is nice and so is the staff. The restaurant is not the best, I would go somewhere else. Unfortunately there was to much waves in the sea so it wasn't possible to swim when we were there. The beach is not sand, it's small stones and not so nice to walk on. But it is very nice surroundings and I think the sea would be nice if the weather was better.

My GF and me were there for one week. Very nice beach. Good and clean rooms. Unfortunately the food is very bad. I thought in Italy it is not possible to eat bad but the hotel-restaurant is boarderline. Most of the people are friendly but they speak just a little bit english. If you are not able to speak italian, a couple of guys tend to give you harsh and racist answers. Especially the young guy at the bar.

Quite nice. But rooms get very hot because there is no ventilation and no fans or a/c. The whole hotel compound is very narrow and gets crowded.
